If you were to think about three bands who could carry off a huge stadium show, the guys from Hella Mega would pretty much be my first choices. Individually Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer are great rock bands – but stack them one after the other on a hot summer’s day and it’s pure magic.
Based on the crowd at Dick’s, a ton of people did exactly what we did. Gen-X brought their Gen-Z kids to see bands everyone collectively grew up on. My son went through phases with all three, but watching him sing along with every Fall Out Boy song word for word was pretty damn special.
As for me? Green Day is, was, and always will be one of the greatest rock bands to see live, ever. I apologize for the massive amount of photos below, but how could I edit such a fun show down to just a few snaps?
Yes, the world made us wait for Hella Mega, but it was definitely worth it.
