AWOLNATION at Fillmore Denver

After a bunch of new music in recent years, it was great to have AWOLNATION back to Denver for a concert. Aaron Bruno and the crew never disappoint – it’s always loud, moody, and electrifying at the same time. The crowd at Fillmore Denver was totally there for it, chanting lyrics back to the band, even for the newer songs.

AWOLNATION had some tech difficulties at the beginning of their set, but in some ways, that made the show better, because we got some more banter from Aaron than normal. Otherwise, the band showed off their musicality and stage presence – keeping us dancing all night. In a year of great concerts, AWOLNATION put on one of the best.

And with the two latest singles, “Freaking Me Out” and “We Are All Insane,” Aaron seems to yet again understand the feelings we are collectively having while muddling through this crazy, pandemic world. I can tell you both songs have been blasting around here all month.

Here’s hoping all the new music signals more touring in the near future.
