Mike D Releases Debut Solo Album Thank You

Mike D has released his debut solo album, Thank You, via Capitol Records.

The new record is the first full-length collection of new music from a Beastie Boys member since the group released Hot Sauce Committee Part Two in 2011. It grew from experimental sessions in Mike D’s home studio, where he began collaborating with his sons, Skyler and Davis Diamond.

Rather than trying to recreate the Beastie Boys, Mike D uses Thank You to explore electronic sounds, industrial beats, punk energy and plenty of unexpected turns. His unmistakable voice holds it all together.

The album includes the previously released songs “Switch Up,” “What We Got,” “True Colors” and “Crypto,” along with the new single “Make It Stop.” An official lyric video for “Make It Stop” arrived alongside the album.

Mike D is also returning to the road with Mike D 5D. The touring band features Skyler and Davis Diamond, Eddie Ruscha, Will Graefe and Milo Ruscha. Their current tour includes dates across North America, the United Kingdom and Europe, along with an appearance at San Francisco’s Portola Music Festival.

There is no Denver or Colorado show on the current schedule, but additional dates and updates will be posted through Mike D’s website.
