Collective Soul - Mission Ballroom - Denver Concert Photos

Collective Soul at Mission Ballroom Denver

When Collective Soul played Denver recently, I was shocked at how many songs I was singing along to. Apparently, I was a super-fan and I didn’t even know it! Given the band has ten albums over 25 years, including 2019’s Blood, it’s not shocking there is such a body of music for me to recognize. Everyone at the Mission Ballroom was there with me, singing and dancing too. Also not surprising, since lead singer Ed Roland was all over the stage and getting the place pumped (P.S. Be sure to look in the photos for the tiny mesmerized fan sitting right up front throughout).

Ed was also back and forth on the piano, while brother Dean Roland was backing on rhythm guitar. Watching bassist Will Turpin and lead guitarist Jesse Triplett rock out pretty much the whole time was just damn fun. However, my only complaint about photographing at Mission is the drummers are usually elevated and to the back, which I know makes it great for the fans, but hard for photographers – thus no photos of Johnny Rabb. But he was definitely felt, trust me.

The band has a few more dates this year in their native southeast, so hopefully the home fans can see them then!
