IDLES at Mission Ballroom Denver
If you’ve ever felt the raw power of a live punk rock show, then you can imagine what it’s like to see IDLES in concert. This five-piece band from Bristol has been shaking up the music scene since their formation in 2009. Their return to Denver at the Mission Ballroom was pretty much an explosion of music and energy. Everyone told me how good IDLES was live – and no joke, they were right on target.
The show a whirlwind of sweat and camaraderie. Frontman Joe Talbot took command the stage with a ferocious energy, and I caught Lee Kiernan diving into the crowd – something you don’t see very often at Denver’s Mission. The band’s connection with their audience is palpable, creating a communal atmosphere that’s both electrifying and intimate.
The band’s ethos of inclusivity and resistance resonates deeply with their fans. Each concert is a celebration of individuality and collective spirit, a reminder that there’s power in unity and authenticity.
As they continue to tour and release new music, IDLES show no signs of slowing down. Their relentless drive and unwavering commitment to their message ensure that they remain a vital force in the music world. If you haven’t experienced IDLES yet, do yourself a favor and dive into their discography — better yet, catch them live. You won’t be disappointed.
