James Bay concert Denver - Photos & Review - Ogden Theatre

James Bay at Ogden Denver

I have been wanting to see James Bay every since his breakthrough in 2015 with “Hold Back the River.” For one reason or the other, it didn’t happen until recently – and luckily several old friends were in town that night – so it was more of a celebration all around. Especially when he played “Pink Lemonade,” an uncharacteristically bouncy song and my fave of his.

As James Bay took the stage at Denver’s Ogden Theatre, his distinctive voice immediately drew the audience in, and his charismatic presence captures everyone’s attention. It was generally a moody show with little conversation, but overall we danced way more than I expected. The packed room sang along to favorites like “Let It Go,” while also feeling the raw and emotional storytelling of his ballads.

For sure, James’ powerful vocals and masterful guitar-playing carried the night. It was my first time seeing James Bay, but it definitely won’t be my last.
