Sounds like a great list to me!

  2. Sarah Jackson

If Journey is wrong, then I don’t want to be right.

You should hear my 9 year old belt out Don’t Stop Believin’ – it’s awesome.

  3. Gretchen

Sounds like the next winner’s cd…

  4. Nat

Can I top that with ABBA Gold — The Greatest Hits?

    1. I reckon Outkast is cool. Don’t care what anyone says. Mind you I love Yeah, by Usher. (So wtf do I know.)
    2. Well I have thing for Objection Tango by Shakira so Wherever, Whenever uproar is pointless.
    3. I have earworms from most of these. Right Now Scritti Politi (I have this album on vinyl) is rotating in my brain.

There is however NO excuse for Carribean Queen. 😉

  5. Aimee Greeblemonkey

ha ha ha Nat! At least it wasn’t Get Out of My Dreams, or whatever that crap was!

  6. Becky

WHF-wha? Loverboy was my first concert. Shhh!

  7. zipper

The Backstreet Boys and Hanson will take you straight to hell.

  8. Aimee Greeblemonkey

Becky… WHFS was the alternative rock station growing up in Baltimore. It was supremely awesome. Introduced me to soooo many bands. And ironically enough, they played Loverboy’s Working For The Weekend every Friday at 5pm.

  9. Wenderina

I just found the funniest vid on YouTube with Hey Ya.

    You gotta check it out:

You can’t help but smile at this one.

My son is in 9th grade now. He won’t admit to it but when he was in 1st grade, he was a big Backstreet Boys fan. I took him to their concert.

  11. Aimee Greeblemonkey

    Wenderina, that is awesome!

  12. Charlotte

I think Lady in Red is the most embarrassing song ever, and I always cry when I hear it, which is even more embarrassing.

  13. Sarah O.

You should post this compilation on iTunes. It’s just that disturbingly wonderful.

I listened to WHFS all the time when I lived in Columbia, MD.

  14. carrie

Is it wrong that I know the words to almost every one of those songs?

  15. MB

Kajagoogoo and Scritti Politti? TOO MUCH! I saw Milli Vanilli LIVE!

  16. soccer mom in denial

Shattered Dreams by Johnny Hates Jazz!!

Will you get out of my head!!!!

  17. Amy

I’m not sure about the other songs on your list, but Rolling Stone Magazine named Hey Ya in the top 50 greatest songs of all time. Of which I concur. But most of the songs on your on sing-a-longables and to me that is the best!

  18. Sizzle

i dunno, there’s some good stuff in there. shhhh! 😉

  19. Aimee Greeblemonkey

I know, I know! but any song that says “Shake It Like A Polaroid Picture” is worthy of a LITTLE embarrassment!

  20. Carrie

I don’t think any of those songs are embarrassing! Should I be embarrassed about that?

I say life’s too short, listen to what makes you happy. That’s why I own every Britney Spears album without shame.

  21. Tree

You have provided me with some good tunes to add to my running playlist! Thanks!

  22. Sue at nobaddays

OH! Driving in my car today and Shaggy’s “Angel” came on … my cheesiest guilty pleasure song evah!

  23. crabapple

how about “Run to you”–by Brian Adams. Which my husband, also a guitar player, says is about Mr. Adam’s guitar…is that disturbing?

By the way, Hey Ya is genius.

  24. Catherine

My kid has THE WORST taste in music I’ve ever seen. Toni can’t get enough of the Pina Colada song. You know the one I’m talking about?? “If you like Pina Coladas…. gettin’ caught in the rain…if you’re not into yoga… and you have half a brain…” She’s got the freaking thing memorized.

  25. sue

Are you snooping in my iPod again? Geez….

  26. Mayberry

I am catching up on like 2 weeks of posts and HAVE to stop on comment on this one. These are hilarious. My brother and sister and I still bust a gut when we perform Peter Cetera’s moves from the You’re the Inspiration video for each other.

    (who’s embarrassing now…)
