Alba’s Birthday Party: One Flew West, OptycNerd & Holdfast

I love it when people throw a party for a cause. Our friend Alba gathered some amazing Colorado bands together last month for her birthday and all proceeds from the affair went to Youth On Record.

One Flew West, OptycNerd and Holdfast rocked out at Oskar Blues’ new venue, The Black Buzzard, while Alba made sure we were all stuffed with birthday cake.

Youth on Record is a non-profit founded by the members of Flobots over 10 years ago and helps underserved kids achieve their musical and academic goals. They also manage a state of the art recording studio in Denver which attracts local, regional and national artists to support the cause.

Can’t think of a better way to celebrate. Happy birthday, Alba!
