“Lesson Learned” by The Wild After (Live)
One of the great things about the Denver music scene is how interconnected everyone is. The Wild After is a fairly new band who has just released their first EP. Two members are formerly of The Heyday. The bass player is from Churchill. The drummer also plays in Ivory Circle. They all have other things with other bands that I honestly can’t remember right now. Plus they all are backing up Matt Hires on his tour that started last night at the Marquis Theater.
Check out their single “Lesson Learned” and see why I like them so much (besides the fact all of them are straight-up nice guys).

Great song!
i remember you talking about the Hey Day – didn’t they play your fundraiser?
Yes, they played Tellerpalooza a few years go – and were awesome! Good memory!
Agree! Such a good set. Thoroughly enjoyed. – Darren
Damn! I wish I knew you were there!

Those guys sound good!
Thanks for listening! Clearly I am a fan. 😉
And it’s also a small world among Colorado expats and my circle of friends remaining there! I love these guys and was so happy I could see them for their EP release at the Larimer Lounge last time I was out. They’re currently out this-a-way playing last night in Charleston, SC, and now heading to Vienna, VA (outside DC) with Matt Hires and Kyle Cox. I corresponded with Matt to see if they could do a halfway gig here in Raleigh or Durham tonight on their way up but it was not to be (Matt also just played in Chapel Hill in late April).
Anyway, thanks so much for posting the video. I’ve had the opening riff rumbling around in my head since 1979 or 1980 but never quite wrote the whole song. I’m not sure these guys were even born then. Hope to see you on our next trip back to the high country!
Absolutely David! Looking forward to seeing you again soon, I hope!
