Samantha Crain at Lost Lake Denver
Samantha Crain is a captivating singer‑songwriter whose rich, smoky voice and poetic lyrics have quietly charmed listeners for over a decade. Hailing from Shawnee, Oklahoma, she draws on a deep heritage as a proud citizen of the Choctaw Nation, and her Indigenous roots subtly inform her storytelling and musical sensibility. Growing up steeped in folk and roots traditions, she later blended those influences with indie‑rock and Americana textures to create her signature sound.
I attended her recent concert at Lost Lake in Denver, where she introduced new songs from 2025’s Gumshoe, alongside fan favorites like “Bloomsday.” Her stage presence felt intimate yet powerful, with the audience leaning in at every heartfelt line. Between songs she chatted with us, sharing tales of her life. I first saw her perform at Levitt for the wonderful All My Relations Celebration, but I will be honest and say I much more enjoyed this intimate setting.
Samantha Crain continues moving through the music world with quiet confidence, offering songs that feel personal, timeless, and rooted in her own story. She returns to Denver in August opening for Murder By Death at the Gothic, so get there early to hear her musical magic.
