The Maine band concert photos & review - Summit Music Hall Denver

The Maine at Ogden Denver

The Arizona band The Maine has been coming through Denver since their inception in 2007 and I’ve seen/photographed them a ton over the years – at festivals, clubs, bigger rooms, all kinds of stages – and one thing that never changes is how locked in they are with their audience. Their April 2026 stop at the Ogden Theatre was another reminder of that.

The crowd at the Ogden was loud before the band even walked onstage, and once they did, the room basically stayed at full volume the entire night. Frontman John O’Callaghan has that rare ability to make a packed venue feel conversational while still keeping the energy moving. The band released their 10th studio album, Joy Next Door just last month and while their catalog keeps evolving, and the fans seem to evolve right along with them. It’s one of my faves for sure.

From a photography standpoint, this was definitely one of the tougher Maine sets I’ve shot. The lighting stayed dark for long stretches with heavy backlighting and the band jumping all over can be a challenge to catch. But honestly, that also fit the mood of the show. It felt intimate in a way that worked for the music and the connection happening in the room.

What stood out most was how comfortable the band looked onstage together. After nearly two decades, they play with the kind of confidence that comes from knowing exactly who they are. No overthinking, no giant production tricks needed – just songs people care about and a crowd ready to scream every word back at them.

The Maine has built one of the more loyal fanbases in alternative rock by doing things their own way for a long time now, and nights like this show why that still works. The Ogden was sweaty, loud, and a whole lot of fun. Exactly what you want from a Maine show.

The guys continue their tour here in the United States and Europe through 2026. I hope you can catch them too!
