Rockin’ The Birthday Party
Can’t type much. Am too tired. Not only from Declan’s great birthday party at Monkey Bizness today, but also from the hours of opening presents afterwards (seriously, friends, you are all too generous)! Let’s just say we had a great day, my kid is overwhelmed and now dreaming of his wonderful 5th birthday right now.
But I wouldn’t be me without leaving you with a few photos from the day.

Declan’s first time on a climbing wall!
Here is the seriously huge slide that had adults slamming into the wall at the bottom… Luckily it’s all inflatable, so no concussions.
Here is Julie/Mothergoosemouse’s Tacy having a go at the climbing wall. The Monkey Bizness lady wasn’t very helpful the first go around, but after some encouragement, Tacy tried again and did awesome!
Seriously, dudes. They never had climbing apparatus like this when we were kids.

We brought Declan’s friend Dalio with us because his brother had a soccer game. The two of them apparently chattered like, well… monkeys, the whole way home. A major sign of any party’s success.
The theme of the party was (duh, his favorite), the movie Cars. So were the presents. Let’s just say, it looks like Lightening McQueen threw up inside my house right now.

Oh, and my favorite line from my kid today? As he was eating cake (OK, as he was eating the frosting and leaving the cake for the squirrels), he said he only liked the colored frosting. Because the white frosting “had no flavor.”
That’s my boy.

I like how kids just eat the frosting and leave the cake. I would eat all the cake first THEN eat the frosting to “save the best”. I should’ve just done what kids do today!!
