Bunbury Music Festival Ohio - Day One Concert Photos

Bunbury Music Festival Cincinnati – Day One Photos

This was my first time at Bunbury Music Festival, and in Cincinnati for that matter. But since the festival was so massively packed with great music, I didn’t really get to see much of the city – other than my Lyft ride back and forth from my hotel to Sawyer Point.

Bunbury is cleverly situated along the Ohio River, with four stages lined up in a row with food trucks, drink vendors and artisans in between. I found the fest to be very well organized, even though I was forced to carry cash (a foreign concept for me). I rarely waited long for anything.

As for the music? It’s clearly what brought me from Denver. Whenever I shared the lineup, there was a collective gasp at how great it was.

Fall Out Boy headlined day one. I had actually never seen them before, and they did not disappoint. Not only did they remind us all why they are one of the biggest bands in the world – the pyrotechnics on their stage show (it’s all real in the photos below) were then augmented when the Cincinnati Reds won a home game and set off fireworks behind the festival during the crescendo of the night.

Every band I saw this day put on a great performance. Highlights were new (to me) singer songwriter Chandler Carter, indie faves Joywave and rock legends Stone Temple Pilots.

My entire day (weekend, actually) was spent running back and forth between stages non-stop. I photographed NINE bands on each of the three days, which is why there are so many photos (sorry not sorry).

Thanks for the fun, Bunbury! Looking forward to next year already.
