Djo Concert Denver - Joe Keery band - Mission Ballroom 2025

Djo & Post Animal at Mission Ballroom Denver

Djo, the indie-pop project of actor Joe Keery, has quickly made a name for itself in the world of experimental rock and electronic music. Keery, best known for his role as Steve Harrington on Stranger Things, launched Djo as a way to explore his musical talents outside of his acting career. His debut album, Twenty Twenty, dropped in 2019, showcasing his ability to blend lo-fi indie sounds with synth-heavy production and a sense of humor. His third album, The Crux, was released earlier in 2025.

Djo’s live performances offer fans a chance to see Joe Keery’s musical side in full force. The concert here in Denver at Mission Ballroom had a high high-energy atmosphere, with Keery bringing his charisma full-force to the stage while also navigating through the complex layers of his tracks. Opening act Post Animal is Joe’s former band, and some of the members filled in with Djo’s set too – so the whole night had friends-having-fun feel. (Also, Post Animal will be back to Denver at the Bluebird on December 17th!)

It was also interesting to listen to the crowd – most knew who Joe was, but some clearly didn’t and were just there for the indie pop fun. The latest single, “Basic Being Basic,” has been all over Denver radio, so I am not surprised at the mix in the crowd.

Djo heads to Europe for the summer and then comes back to the States in the fall. I highly recommend catching a show if you can – it’s a fun night with a highly charming entertainer and great vibes.

P.S. In case you are wondering… yes, “Djo” is pronounced “Joe.”
