Lime Cordiale - Concert & Review - Bluebird Denver

Lime Cordiale at Bluebird Theater Denver

I was excited to see Australian rock outfit Lime Cordiale at our very intimate Bluebird Theater recently. Although I will admit, before the show, several friends had of a laugh at the way I was pronouncing the band’s name. I don’t know where I heard it, but I was saying “core-dee-aal,” and they thought (of course) it should be the way us Americans would say it: “cord-juhl.” Jokes on them because I WAS RIGHT. The band confirmed it at the show, and here is back up video to prove it.

Either way, Lime Cordiale live in concert was just as you would imagine from their music. FUN. Comprised of brothers Oli and Louis Leimbach, their music is filled with infectious melodies, clever lyrics, and a distinctive blend of instruments. Formed in 2009, the band has steadily increased their fan base – which was prevalent in the packed Denver show. I know hear the band on played on both KTCL and KBCO, which is probably where I had the inside track on their name.

I have to admit, after I am done photographing, I often head to the back to observe and take notes. But these guys had me up front dancing the whole time. It truly was up there on my list of fave shows in 2023.

Their latest single, “Imposter Syndrome,” is just as addicting as the rest of their catalog. After playing all over Europe this Fall, Lime Cordiale will finish their year at home in Australia and New Zealand but obviously, I am totally looking forward to their next visit to Denver.
