Megan Burtt at Bluebird Denver
One of my favorite singer/songwriters in Denver is Megan Burtt. She has a killer voice that basically melts a song – and when you add gorgeous lyrics, I am a puddle on the floor. Megan recently mounted her first European Tour and celebrated with a homecoming show at Denver’s Bluebird Theater along with The Raven & The Writing Desk. I loved her tribute to David Bowie, and all the fun that followed.
Her second full-length album, The Bargain, is about her recovery from a serious illness, something I know a lot about too.
“These songs are about my struggle to recover my health,” she explains. “The word ‘bargain’ is provocative because we’re constantly bargaining, deciding how and when we should show up in our lives. Every day, decision, connection and relationship feels like an exchange of something for something else, things we may not be aware of until we’re dancing with mortality.”
It’s the truth. Welcome back, Megan.
