Outside Days 2026 Day 3: Music, Friendship and Community in Denver
By the third day of a music festival, everyone is usually moving a little slower. But Sunday at Outside Days had such a strong lineup that there was no time to lose momentum.
The final day brought N3PTUNE, Girl Tones, GROUPLOVE, Tash Sultana, and Cage the Elephant to the main stage. I was able to photograph everyone except the headliner, after Cage the Elephant blocked many photographers at the last minute.
That was frustrating, especially after covering the entire weekend. But the rest of the day was filled with great music, ambitious outdoor installations, and lots of time with friends. In many ways, Sunday captured what Outside Days does best: Brought people together.

N3PTUNE Represents Denver
I was especially excited to start the day with N3PTUNE. Not only is he an incredible Denver artist, he is also a friend. Watching him command the Outside Days stage was a proud moment. N3PTUNE has built a live performance that is theatrical, intense, and completely his own.
His music pulls from rock, soul, hip-hop, and performance art, but trying to fit him neatly into one category misses the point. The power comes from the way all of those influences collide onstage.
It was wonderful to see a Denver artist open the final day with so much confidence and personality. N3PTUNE gave the crowd a real show and made sure Sunday started with a bang.
Girl Tones Turn Up the Volume
Girl Tones kept the energy climbing with a loud, raw rock set.
The sister duo may only put two people onstage, but they create a much bigger sound. Their performance was direct and energetic, with the kind of chemistry that comes from musicians who know exactly how to play off each other.
They were a great addition to the lineup and another example of how well Outside Days balanced established artists with bands people may have been discovering for the first time.
I have a feeling plenty of people left their set as new fans, including me!
GROUPLOVE Brings the Festival Energy
These guys arrived ready to throw a party. Their music is practically designed for a sunny outdoor festival, and the crowd was more than happy to meet them at that level. The band brought color, movement, and nonstop energy to the stage.
GROUPLOVE has so many songs that people recognize within the first few notes, which made their set especially fun. There was dancing, singing, and a whole lot happening everywhere I pointed my camera.
After three days of music, they gave the festival another major burst of energy exactly when we needed it.
Costa Rica Takes Adventure Into the Sky
Each day of Outside Days featured a major brand installation that went far beyond the usual festival booth. On Sunday, Costa Rica created one of the most ambitious experiences of the weekend.
They built a full climbing apparatus high above the festival grounds.
People climbed through the elevated structure while everyone below stopped to watch. It was part obstacle course, part adventure experience, and part giant advertisement for visiting Costa Rica.
Like the Camp Jeep course on Saturday, the installation worked because it connected directly to the spirit of the festival. It gave people something active and memorable to experience between bands, while also adding another dramatic visual to the Auraria Campus grounds.
Outside Days continues to prove that brand activations do not have to be boring.
Tash Sultana Builds a World Onstage
Tash Sultana was one of the performances I was most excited to see all weekend. Watching them construct songs live is fascinating. Layers of guitar, vocals, percussion, and electronic elements build until one person seems to be creating the sound of an entire band.
The technical skill is incredible, but the performance never becomes simply a demonstration of musicianship. Tash brings emotion and personality into every layer, creating songs that expand beautifully across a festival crowd.
It was the kind of set that made people stop talking and pay attention.
Cage the Elephant Finishes Up Night Three
Late changes like this are always frustrating, particularly after photographers have planned to cover the full day and waited through an entire festival weekend. Unfortunately, it meant Cage the Elephant could not be included in my photo coverage.
The band still delivered a strong closing set for the crowd (as they always do!), wrapping up three packed days of music at Auraria Campus.
The Community Around Outside Days
One of the best parts of Sunday had nothing to do with any single performance.
I met up with so many friends throughout the day. Some were working, some were attending the festival, and others were bouncing between music, outdoor experiences, and everything else happening across the grounds.
That sense of community stayed with me all weekend, but it was especially noticeable on the final day. After three days together, the festival had begun to develop its own rhythm. Familiar faces kept appearing in the crowd, people traded recommendations, and everyone seemed genuinely excited to share what they had discovered.
That is the kind of atmosphere a festival cannot manufacture. It has to grow naturally.
Outside Days created plenty of spectacle, from towering climbing structures to off-road courses and enormous stage productions. But the friendships and shared experiences are what made the weekend special.
See You Next Year, Outside Days
The move to Auraria Campus gave Outside Days the space it needed to become something much bigger.
Across three days, we saw an excellent range of music, creative outdoor experiences, fascinating speakers, and installations unlike anything I have encountered at another Denver festival.
I am already excited to see what they do next year!
