Say Anything - Concert Photos & Review Denver

Say Anything at Fillmore Denver

Say Anything, a band that has been part of the indie rock scene since the early 2000s, has a story as eclectic and intense as their music. Formed by Max Bemis in 2000, the band quickly gained a reputation for their raw, emotional lyrics and energetic performances. Their debut album, …Is a Real Boy, released in 2004, was an instant hit in the emo and punk rock community, known for its witty, self-aware lyrics and complex musical arrangements.

Over the years, Say Anything has undergone numerous lineup changes, with Bemis remaining the constant force behind the band. Despite these changes, the band’s sound has remained consistently innovative, blending elements of punk, emo, and even orchestral music.

In concert, Say Anything is a force to be reckoned with. Fans are treated to high-energy performances where Bemis’s stage presence is nothing short of electric. When they visited Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium for their 20th anniversary, the mood in the room was insane! I often say that the fans can make or break a show, especially in a big room like the Fillmore – and the whole place was absolutely shaking!

Despite facing challenges, including Bemis’s public struggles with mental health, Say Anything has persevered. Their music, filled with humor, angst, and a dash of absurdity, continues to resonate with fans old and new. Whether you’re a long-time listener or a new fan, Say Anything live is an really fun experience.

Say Anything picks the tour back up in November, so be sure to catch them if you can!
