Have you heard "Still Feel" by Half•Alive yet? If not, go listen now. I'll wait. It's one of those infectious tunes that you put on repeat for hours and never get tired of. That's pretty much what this band feels like in concert too. They…
I love seeing bands on their first tour through Denver, especially when they have already made an impression on the fans. Both Gnash (the G is silent) and Mallrat had the crowd singing along with them and were seemingly surprised by it. Opener Mallrat has…
When the security guys in the pit are getting pumped for a show, you know it's gonna be good. With crowd surfing and a whole lot of people rocking out. That's what went down when FIDLAR took over The Gothic in Denver last month. I…
Aaron Bruno and AWOLNATION came to Denver ready to rock. Their new album Here Come The Runts smashed on to radio here in Denver earlier this year and shows no sign of stopping. Same with the live show. I have photographed AWOLNATION once before at…
I listened to Joywave's album How Do You Feel Now? non-stop for the better part of 2015 and loved it when they opened for Young The Giant this past summer. Everyone at Globe Hall must have been there too because when lead singer Daniel Armbruster…
If you are from Denver, you may know the name Patricia Lynn from the Air Dubai song "Warning." If you listen to Channel 93.3, you have heard "Grand Canyon," an indie pop ditty from The Wind and The Wave. Beyond those songs, the duo of…
I have seen Ian Mahan perform live a few times but hadn't had a chance to photograph him until his show last week at Lost Lake Lounge. Ian recently released a new single, "Breakaway," but was also pretty prolific in 2017 with twoEPs. He writes some great songs, but is also fun to see live. It's usually a stripped down concert, which IMO shows off his songs best. Although he's the kind of songwriter that it would be cool to see a full orchestra behind him too. (Maybe later in 2018???)
Either way, keep an eye on Ian Mahan and get out to see him when you can.
