20th Blog Anniversary

Twenty Years of Greeblehaus

Twenty years. It’s strange to even write that out. When I started this blog back in 2005, it was just a way to share family updates – small snapshots of the everyday, the milestones, and the messy joy. I was a mom with a camera and web design skills, posting stories mostly meant for grandparents and close friends. Somehow, that tiny corner of the internet grew into something much bigger. The “mom blog” world was a wild ride – equal parts support group, diary, and discovery. I met incredible women, learned how to connect on social media, and found my voice through late-night posts between diaper changes and school drop-offs.

Then, one day, my kid looked at me, somewhere between exasperated and embarrassed, and said, “Can you please stop writing about me?” And that was that. I respected it. But I also felt a shift. The storytelling didn’t stop – it just needed a new outlet.

Music had always been woven into my life, and photography had been quietly waiting in the wings. The blog transformed, slowly and sometimes awkwardly, into a place for concert photos, band interviews, and reflections from the photo pit. The roar of the crowd replaced the giggle of a toddler, but the heartbeat was the same: connection, creativity, and the search for meaning in everyday moments.

Now, as I hit the 20-year mark, I’m not sure what comes next. The internet feels different, both bigger and smaller at the same time. Blogs aren’t the same kind of gathering place they once were – but they still feel like home to me. Whether a handful of readers stop by or thousands scroll through, it’s the act of creating and sharing that matters.

So I’ll keep writing when I can, shooting shows when I’m lucky enough to get a pass, and soaking in the rhythm of life – both onstage and off. Twenty years later, this little blog has evolved as much as I have. And for that, I’m endlessly grateful.
