Happy 17th Birthday, Greeblehaus!
It sounds extremely weird to say it, but this blog turned 17 years old this week. Seventeen. That is 1/3 of my life. Seventeen years that I have been pouring my heart and soul into this online digest.
I often say I started as a mom blogger and got lucky when parenting blogs took off. Then, in some ways, I got lucky that my kid decided they did not want to be the focus of this site anymore. During that time, we had been running a rock concert fundraiser for their school – and I shifted to music.
I can’t even put into words how much having this blog and interacting with people online has affected my life. Yes, sometimes it is overwhelming and crazy – but I would not trade it for anything. I have traveled the world and met so many people from around the globe. I have attended insane events and photographed my heroes and built a wonderful community.
As Twitter is in free-fall right now, I am reminded how fragile it all is – and I am also so thankful that I continued to cultivate this site as my personal little corner of cyberspace. I am also immensely grateful for the love and support from friends.
I gave this blog a name that essentially meant nothing (other than our kid’s baby nickname) on purpose. I wanted it to be anything and everything. I wanted room to move and evolve. It’s certainly provided a space for that.
But I am also proud that all that work has amounted to something. People do know the name Greeblehaus and what it means.
Bryan and I are now empty nesters and digital nomads. We are ready for the next step and look forward to the future. Thanks for joining us on the journey.
