A Trip Down Memory Lane (2002-2005)

Seeing as yesterday was Declan’s 7th birthday and all, I decided to sort through some back-ups, look at some old photos, and get all nostalgic and stuff. I discovered some universal truths:

1. I was a shitty photographer with a shitty digital camera.
2. Declan was WAY chubbier than I remember him to be.
3. I had a sucky back-up system back then.

But the good news is, who cares, right? All that matters is I do have some photos of that time.

Because for those who don’t remember, Declan was born 2 months premature, so the first year was pretty sketchy. I think I should get points for taking any pictures at all.

I started this blog in 2005, and about that same time, got better at uploading photos to Flickr, and also got better at organizing my photos. You may have seen my Declan set, where recently, Declan has been looking like he could try out for a part on High School Musical. Time really does speed up. I know that now because Bryan explained the Theory of Relativity last night, right before we had to explain it to Declan for his 2nd grade homework. [The next few years are going to be interesting. I am going to need help, Internet.]

But for now, let’s remember simpler times. When I was just the all-knowing, all-loving Mama to my very chubby baby.





































P.S. The dog in these photos is not Poe – but our first dog together, Rio, who passed away in 2006.

P.P.S. We like to name our animals in 3 letters or less.

P.P.P.S. Declan still sleeps with these puppies. Yes, he will need braces.

P.P.P.P.S. Notice how I put in every obligatory dirty face and mohawk hair photo available. That’s like the law.

    I love how I can see Declan as he is now even in those early months. And likewise, Tacy was far chubbier than I remember her to be too.
