January Greeblepix Contest! + Haiti Relief

Yay, friends! It’s Greeblepix Photo Contest time again.

And to celebrate Martin Luther King Day, as well as feeling like I need to do something more for Haiti – for every entry this month*, I will personally donate $1.00 to UNICEF in support of Haiti relief efforts. I am hoping we have a record number of entries, OK?

The theme this month will be “inspirational.” Photos that either inspire you to be better, work harder, or look deeper inside. As you know, I like themes to be pretty broad, so feel free to take the theme loosely, but given what has been happening this week in Haiti – I know we can all reflect on how lucky we all are today. And how we can do better at helping others.

Google has pulled together a great page with various ways to donate if you are able to.

As always, the Greeblepix winner will receive a $250 camera equipment rental from Pro Photo Rental!

if we get to vote my vote goes to jennythebloggess. Her photo touches a tender spot in my heart. My little sis is curently going through chemo for breast cancer. She is also scheduled to get a mastectomy after chemo. ow that she is bald we were discussing the idea of getting tattoos on her head and chest as a means of taking creative control of her challenging situation. Jenny’s photo is what I imagined it could look like.

Those who bound to to the standard faiths allege that the expert of their reliance rests on revelation, and that revelation is confirmed in the pages of books and accounts of miracles and wonders whose complexion is supernatural. But those of us who force long discarded the credence in the magical unruffled are in the self-possession of revelations which are the cellar of faith. We too arrange our revealed religion. We from looked upon the face of men and women that can be to us the symbols of that which is holy. We enjoy heard words of divine understanding and truth vocal in the gentle voice. In of the domain there experience come to us these sagacity which, when accepted, allow to us revelations, not of unexplainable belief, but of a real and fated fidelity in the clerical powers that animated and live in the center of [a themselves’s] being.
