A Thank You, A Promise, and My Next Big Thing!

First, you are so awesome to tolerate my pity party yesterday. I appreciate all the supportive comments and emails. Having virtual friends like you is really one of the things about a blog I don’t think I could ever give up.

Second, I realized that I have been yearning for engagement from the community when I have been not the best Net Citizen myself. We all have the same [understandable] reasons, busy busy busy. And I made a promise to my family to put them first as I struggle for balance between blog world and real world, but at the same time – I need to let my friends know more often that I *am* reading. I *am* paying attention.

I complained yesterday that Google Reader makes me scroll back up to the title of the post to click over and comment. Anyone know a better way? Because that is a simple thing that would make it so much easier for me to comment. Having a link to jump over to the post at the BOTTOM.

Until then, I promise to try harder to let you know I’m here. We all like to feel loved, right?

AND FINALLY. Remember how my St. Patrick’s Day Resolution was to do epic shit? My first attempt was/is Lunch Chats (of which I am due one) and while they, in of themselves, aren’t very epicy – for me, just having the balls to do them was epic – for me.

SO! Here’s my next epic (for me) thing. I am taking a deep breath and diving right in.

Here’s the idea. Part photo workshop from me, part playdate with friends. Gather parents and kids at the park, have an interactive teaching experience + fun. The first one will be sometime in July in Denver, details coming soon.

Here is the site, with Twitter, Facebook, etc, for you to fall in love with.

Being that my child is my favorite photography subject, filling up practically every file on my camera, this is for ME! What a fab idea, Aimee! Can’t wait to play.

Love it!! Sorry I missed the ‘party’ yesterday – I’ve been down with a bug. =( Feeling better today, and catching up I saw this about you. I’m proud of who you are, the ways you stay true to yourself, and your creative vision. I’m SOOO following you back on Twitter. =) *hugs*

AWESOME idea … and when you take it on the road, make San Diego your first stop!

And the GReader thing is not working for me [pout!} – maybe cause I am a Mac??

Great idea Aimee! (And Bryan) If you wanted to come do one here in Augusta, that would work for me. There’s some cool architecture downtown, a riverwalk, and Magnolia Cemetery, which is amazing.

I love love love the photo playdate idea and hope it can come to my little corner of the world someday (I have a mom friend here who’s an awesome photographer, so.)

That is such a fantastic idea! But I’m jealous I don’t live close enough to come!

Do you have the Better GReader plug-in for Firefox? It makes commenting much, MUCH easier because it opens the post within your reader, instead of opening a separate tab or window. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6424

OH MY GOSH – brilliance, Aimee … pure brilliance.

  17. kristy - where's my damn answer

Love it … oh and LOVING Burgh Baby for sharing the google reader plugin – just installed it and OMG it makes it simple. I’m using it here.

Test Test Test … did it work 😉

Sounds fun. Wish I lived closer.

I had to install Gears too and now it’s working and I’m on a Mac. Do you have that yet?

Considering I felt guilty picking your brain for photography tips at a regular social gathering (even though it *was* at my house), I’m all in for a gathering at which I’ll be *encouraged* to pick your brain.

    What a GREAT idea!!!!!!

DC/NoVA/MD, you need a PPD (heh, did you notice it would have this acronym?) rep, you know where to find me.

I haven’t been a good citizen either lately. I got out this morning and made my way around the blogosphere a little more and I realized just how much I missed you all. And well you?? After Houston, you’ll never be free of me.

considering I’ve dropped the ball on summer camp or plans for Sj, I absolutely want in! Maybe the kids can also take our pictures!
