Alice In Winterland Concert Photos 2016: The Band Perry & American Authors

We are lucky to have a bunch of great radio stations in Denver: Alice 105.9 being one of them. And many of these stations put on music festivals several times a year, bringing together big acts in small venues. Alice in Winterland 2016 was held at the Gothic Theatre, a thousand person venue with lots of levels for concert viewing. Sadly for me and other photographers, we were shooting from the “back of house” to keep the front clear for fans… which was definitely a challenge! Sometimes that makes it more fun, though – especially when bands like American Authors and The Band Berry are the headliners.

I have seen and photographed American Authors several times before, and this was a more stripped down set for them. All the guys were up front, engaging with the audience and having a blast!

I had not seen The Band Perry before, and this trio of siblings pretty much blew me away. Their music leans more country than I usually listen to, but their live show is pure rock star. I hope they come back to Denver soon.
