AMZY at Denver’s Bluebird with Popfilter and Hive Riot
I counted up how many concerts I will have attended in 2016 by the December 31st: 97. Ninety-seven. That included several multi-day festivals, so more than 25% of my year was spent at shows. OMG.
Which band did I go see the most? AMZY.
I feel honored to call these guys good friends, who even sang some acoustic songs at our summer party in August.
What else did they do to make me cry this year? Gave my 14 year old son his first photo pass, ever. Seriously. Pass the tissues.
Dex had a blast at the show, experimenting with his camera and dancing with his friends. I have included some of my favorite photos of his below, with captions designating the shots as his.
AMZY had a very successful Pledgemusic project to support their new EP release, and the headlining show in November was a celebration of that. Denver band Popfilter and Utah duo Hive Riot (coincidentally also friends through the fantastic Alt Summit) kicked off the night.
Think your heartstrings couldn’t be tugged any more? We also had a proposal on stage. (She said yes!)
The guys won KTCL’s Hometown For The Holidays in 2014, back when they were just getting started. This Saturday, they are headlining the free HTFTH show at the Summit – playing along with the top three bands from this year’s contest, as picked by Channel 93.3 Music Nerds.
Our family will be there (one of my 97 shows) and look forward to many more AMZY shows in 2017.
