Ann Coulter is so ridiculous she almost makes me laugh. Almost.

Thanks to Izzy for the video of Ann Coulter proving herself to be the most asinine political commentator that ever lived. If all the crap she has previously spewed didn’t prove it to you, just watch this. If you ever took one word out of her mouth seriously, just watch this.

But the best part? John Edwards is using it as a fundraising drive on his web site.

Raise $100,000 in Coulter Cash to fight back against the politics of bigotry.

Now that’s class.

P.S. By the way, speaking of The Lovely Ann Coulter, if you want to read the original author of the book Godless – his name is Drew Stepek and he is a friend of mine from high school. The Ann Coulter legal train was too big to fight, but I am proud to say he was able to get his book out there nonetheless.

Updated to add: WHY is this not making headlines? Why is the media not all over this? I realize I don’t have cable and don’t watch TV news but it was in every section of my Yahoo page when the dude from Grey’s Anatomy said this very same word! Below is the only article I could find on it that wasn’t a blog/op ed or on Fox News (which is, in general, also op ed – although, I have to give them credit for trying in this case).

CNN Article: Coulter under fire for anti-gay slur.

Also, CNN posted about several companies pulling their ads from Coulter’s site after complaints (fueled by a post on Daily Koz). HA HA. Proud to be a Verizon subscriber right now (Um, until the iPhone is released, that is).

One more update: OK, I guess she does need rehab. Here is her idiotic response:

Ann Coulter fired back at critics who demanded the conservative columnist apologize for comments she made during a speech in which she referred to Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards as a “faggot.”

“‘Faggot isn’t offensive to gays; it has nothing to do with gays,” Coulter said on “Hannity and Colmes” Monday night. “It’s a schoolyard taunt meaning ‘wuss,’ and unless you’re telling me that John Edwards is gay, it was not applied to a gay person.”

    She needs remedial kindergarten.

Huffington post carried it. I missed the Daily Show last night, but it’s tivo’d. I can’t imagine Jon Stewart will let it go without some commentary. It’s sad, but it’s a fact, that I get 1/2 of my real news from his show.

  3. Mrs. Wheezer

I did see it on MSNBC.com. It doesn’t really shock me since idiots are prone to saying idiotic things… Makes me ill that she’s the voice of conservatism (speaking as a conservative).

  4. Mrs. Wheezer

I suspect it hasn’t made a huge splash since she can’t seem to go six months without making some completely offensive remark in a very public venue.

I think she is an idiot. She does conservatives & women a disservice when she opens her mouth.
