Brand New and Modest Mouse at Red Rocks

I was thrilled to photograph both Brand New and Modest Mouse for the second time (both at different Riot Fests), but for my first time seeing them together at Red Rocks recently. It was a co-headlining tour but Modest Mouse went first. That was fine by me, because it was still a bit light out, allowing us to better see all the band members, their expressions and their talents on all sorts of instruments.

Brand New had a killer light show, with lots of strobes and good old rock music. Lead singer Jesse Lacey stuck behind his microphone adorned with flowers but belted out the tunes while guitarist Vincent Accardi shredded with lots of attitude and hair-flipping.

A good night to be under the monoliths.
