Cavetown, mxmtoon & Ricky Montgomery at Levitt Denver

Cavetown, whose real name is Robin Skinner, is a British singer-songwriter known for his heartfelt music. He initially gained prominence through YouTube, where he uploaded original music and covers before signing with a record label. His unique blend of folk, indie, and bedroom pop elements has earned him both a hugely dedicated fan base and critical acclaim. I know this for a fact, as Cavetown was one of my highest searches from 2022!

Take Robbie, as his name was screamed over my shoulder for hours at Levitt Denver earlier this year, and add mxmtoon and Ricky Montgomery? That is one heck of a fun show. I was able to attend this mini-fest at Levitt with my now-21yo, who is a fan of all three acts. As you can tell by the photos below, the whole show was pretty youth-oriented, which kept the energy level insanely high.

mxmtoon, also known as Maia, is also a singer-songwriter and social media personality. She is known for her ukulele-based indie pop sound and candid, relatable lyrics. Maia’s authenticity and approachable demeanor are incredibly endearing.

As for Ricky Montgomery, who got the most heat from our Denver summer that day… his style is a fusion of indie pop and alternative rock, showcasing his impressive vocal range. Ricky is 100% an artist I would not know about without my kid, and his songs are all over my playlists because of that.

Cavetown has some shows in Australia early next year, but I hope they keep up the trend and come back to visit us again in 2024, too!
