Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are!

I am totally fascinated by the sociology of blogs. Why people write them, why people read them, and since I have turned comments on – why people comment on them. Maybe it goes back to my psychology minor, but things like that really turn me on.

I have watched my stats grow lately, and would you believe there are 100 of you regularly reading Greeblemonkey these days? I am truly honored that you make time out of your day to stop by. 100 is a lot of people, many of whom I don’t know.

I love looking at the places people come from. I love seeing what parts of the world are interested in our little corner of the world. Several I recognize as family and friends, some come from Google searches and hang out, some find me from other blogs, and some appear out of thin air.

Here are some who I have *no* idea who they are, but I see regularly:
Carlsbad, CA
Plano, TX
Purchase, NY
Cheyenne, WY
Washington, DC
Rockville, MD
Raleigh, NC
Redding, CA

And also, thus far, I have had visitors from all sorts of countries other than the USA… the UK, Sweden, China, Germany, Japan, Italy, El Salvador, Canada, Romania… most of which have been looking for the lyrics to that Panic! At The Disco song, but hey, whatever floats your boat, dude.

Like I said, it’s all amazing and fascinating! AND FREAKING COOL!

And I just wanted to welcome and thank you all. And encourage you to say hi. Comment away. I know there is a National Delurking Day sometime, but how about you say hello today? It’s Friday, so what the hell, right? Make yourself comfy and cozy. I don’t bite. I promise.

I’d love to hear from you. Why do you read blogs? Why do you write them? Why do you, or do you not usually comment on them?

Bring it.

And P.S. The new Greeblemonkey design is so close I can taste it. If it weren’t for freaking Internet Explorer and their non-standards-based ways, you’d be seeing it right now. Soon, young grasshoppers, soooooonnnn.

And one more P.P.S. – To my regular 10 commenters, big kisses.

Carlsbad, CA, is probably me at work. And if the Canadian visits are sporadic, one-offs, that might be our rellys clicking through to you off our blogroll.

    Hello! 🙂

  6. Oh, The Joys

If your feed worked there’d be a LOT more from me. (ahem.)

When I sit down to write something (posts about blogging or blog awards excluded) I think, “What do I want to tell my mom about my day and how can I tell her in a goofy way?”

I read other people’s blogs because I am just so nosey.

Don’t forget Kailua-Kona, Hawaii! I may be new but I’m certainly regular (reader, not personality-wize). I just don’t have enough to do at work…oops! I mean, at home….yeeaaah.

I don’t live in any of those exotic places (Purchase, NY!) but I’ll say “Hi” and “TGIF” anyway.

I read for laughs, ideas, and inspiration – Hi, from Australia (currently)!

I’m a fellow Aimee. stumbled over from Fussy. I don’t know why I started blogging, but I keep doing it because I’ve met some pretty awesome people through it. 🙂

Cute blog. I’ll be back. 🙂

I stare at your picture longingly every day. You don’t know who I am. It is a secret. An adventure, even.

I will forever remain hidden like the meaning to life- sought for, thought of, but never revealed.

I am from closer than you could imagine. Watching.

    Your secret admirer,

    Mr. X

There are days when I have no idea why I write. I started as a creative outlet to be funny and entertain others so they would like me.

Well, you know how I found your blog, loL! Good ole BBC.

But why do I blog? I dunno. Everyone has always told me since i was a kid how good of a writer I am, even though I don’t think so. I like to write, but just don’t think it’s any good. I guess my blog is just my outlet for that. Even though I have really been slacking lately.

My home will track different than work … work’s close to DC but I’m pretty sure the logs will still say MD (shouldn’t be Rockville, though!).

I exclude my traffic from my own logs so I’m not sure what it says … though once I hit my blog when I had my VPN connected (it didn’t recognize me), and it thought I was in Palo Alto, CA …
