Go to the Maypole
I am sad to say I have never been to New Orleans.
I had plenty of opportunity. I went to college in northeast Florida. One of my best friends got her masters in Baton Rouge. I have crossed the country several times on road trips.
I just never made it there.
But we will go. I promise.
Until then, visit with Painted Maypole’s beautiful tribute.

I love NOLA. Lovely tribute. Thanks for pointing me there.
That was lovely, thanks.
amazing.
Maypole, you’re on!
Carrie, pack your bags!
And Ambassador, I have been thinking of you this week too! Hugs!
Gorgeous new pics in your sidebar – love them.
Wow. Thanks for the link. And now that you know someone here, you can come and visit! I’m a pretty good tour guide. 🙂
I wanna go with you! We’d have so much fun!
Aimee – thank you. It’s been a rough week here in NOLA, and knowing there are folks out there (that’s all y’all!) blogging about it really helps…it’s a nice change to cry for the good things too. I appreciate you posting the link…Ken
I absolutely love Nawlin’s.
I went for the first time about 10 years ago for a business trip and ate pretty much anything than swam in the Miss-ippi’ river.
I’ve never been either, same story. I’m going in a month for work and am very interesting to see what’s happened. I have a good friend that lives there. I spoke to him yesterday and he said there are still tons of areas that are in shambles.
Is everything back to normal in New Orleans? Jazz is the kind of music we apes can groove to. Remember King Louis in The Jungle Book?
I never have been there either, but that post was amazing. Thanks for sending us.
Painted Maypole’s post was great. Thanks.
