Grouplove and Muna at Ogden Theatre in Denver

I fell in love with Grouplove with Never Trust a Happy Song in 2011 but I had never seen them live. I had no idea what to expect. This indie band is pretty eclectic and has evolved quite a bit over the years. I certainly wasn’t expecting the explosion of energy that splattered on stage when Grouplove performed at Denver’s Ogden Theatre. Singers Hannah Hooper and Christian Zucconi (who also are a couple) smashed back and forth as the whole band gave a sincere high-energy pop show while still maintaining their indie-rock roots.

Opener MUNA is a 3-piece band of ladies who were new to me but blew me away. I loved their dark and moody brand of electronic pop and had a blast chasing lead singer Katie Gavin around the stage (with my camera).

Grouplove picks up on a 2017 Winter-Spring tour in the US. Be sure to catch them live if you can!
