Hanging out with a teenager two weekends in a row.
First, last weekend, we had a marathon photo session taking the photos. Then today, I spent all afternoon editing the kajillion photos I took down to a reasonable number.
The teenager in question is my business partner’s son, Ian, who is a senior this year and needed his photo taken for all those various things seniors need their photos for.
But seriously, I had NO IDEA what a complete racket senior photos have turned into. Ian and I had a ball looking through the brochures of photographers who have been marketing their services to him non-stop… some good, some NOT. Some even peddling stock art as their own photos. Nice! Ian also told me that there is a trend for couples to get their photos taken together. Professionally! At age 17! I just find it humorous to spend hundred of dollars on photographs that you will end up ripping in half because you never want to speak to that person ever again.
But back to Ian. He’s totally a great kid, so the marathon photo sessions have been fun – and now I have senior photos to add to my portfolio. And what am I saying? This “kid” is pretty much a man, and a smart, kind, handsome, funny one at that. It’s just weird to think of him that way since I’ve known him more than half his life.
But, seriously, watch. out. world.
He’s 17????
Where were you when I was 18? You should see my portfolio of Sr. pics, it’s a shame.
Those are great. What a handsome (and obviously a multi-talented) young man.
great photos. he’s like the all around boy with the sports and the music and the smile.
though when i look at his hair i think of the beatles. 🙂
He should be a model! What baffles me is that our kids will be at this point before we know it. Great shots Aimee!
What wonderful pictures of an amazing young man! I absolutely love the one of him in the middle that is casual and looks like him.
He plays the violin?
He skis?
He is kind?
My faith in today’s youth is being restored by young people like him.
Can I book you for Mia and Michael? It’s not until 2019 and 2021, but hey, I’m a planner. 😉
Great photos as always, but must have been easy with such a great subject!
I really like the first one in B/W with the Violin colored – what a great photo. All of them are great but that one (IMO really stands out. Nice job Aimee – he looks like he’s going to grow up to be a nice young man. (And already quite handsome if I’m not too old to say that – LOL!)
LOL, thanks all! And Teri and Maypole, you’re on!
Those are wayyyy better than the senior photos I was forced to endure! Ian is lucky!
so much better than my senior photos.
I did have some taken with my best friend, and I’m so glad I did. I still treasure that picture.
Look, when you come to stay with me in N.O. I’ve decided to charge you rent, in the form of a photo session. Is that extortion? I don’t care. 😉
Yeah! I want to know which one he picks!
wonderful pics as usual!
Wow. He is smokin’ hot. Seriously, only 18? Love the pics with the ski’s.
Lucky you, too… I love hangin’ out with teenagers. It’s refreshing, don’t you think?
So which picture will be in the yearbook?
Great, great photos! He was lucky to have you take them.
Waaaay better than the crap I was subjected to 10 years ago. What about that standard arms-crossed-while-resting-on-a-mirror-pose? Because I ALWAYS did THAT in high school.
Is it illegal for me to say he’s hot?
🙂
OK, let’s be careful with the hot comments, people! That almost-family you are talking about. EWWW. 😉 But yes, he is very handsome.
Ha ha, I love how everyone thinks the youngin’ is hot. But he *is* really cute. And great pics.
I can’t believe couples are getting their pics together!
What a good lookin’ kid! Look out world!
Can I just send Tim to you, so you can take some pictures? Girl, you have got some talent there! Although he is pretty amazing looking!
