KTCL Channel 93.3 Hometown For The Holidays Top Eleven 2019
It’s that time of year! Yes, Christmas … but also Hometown for the Holidays (#HTFTH), which is a contest from KTCL Channel 93.3 to showcase our awesome Denver and Colorado local music scene. Bands from all over the state submit songs to the station, and specifically to DJ Alf, who runs the Locals Only show on Sunday nights. Then KTCL’s team leader, Nerf, assembles a group of former winners, music professionals, venue peeps and various others from around Denver to help go through nearly 100 songs every year.
We attend a listening party (this year held at the Oriental Theater, where the actual event will be on December 21st) and vote for each song without knowing who the band is. The votes are tabulated into a Top Ten that is announced at Channel 93.3’s Not So Silent Night show, which was held last night!
I am really proud to be part of this effort to shine a light on our great music scene and I know I say this every year, but best one yet, for sure. I was *so* impressed with the quality of ALL the songs submitted. I look forward to getting to know the new bands I heard and celebrating the continued rise of our old favorites.
Without further ado, here are the Top Ten for 2019 – only it’s actually 11 this year because there was a tie for 10th place. YAY! Even better! Congrats to all these great artists.

How Do You Vote For Your Faves?
The songs will start into rotation on 93.3 soon, which is so awesome! But you have to vote. If you are not already, become a “Music Nerd” with KTCL. Then, when the HTFTH survey comes out, be sure to rate the songs how you liked them. The Top Three from that vote will be invited to play the Hometown concert below and the top vote will open up Not So Silent Night 2020!
