Red Rocks

Michael Franti & Spearhead perform with Zella Day at Red Rocks in the summer of 2016.

Soul Rocker Michael Franti at Red Rocks

Many times my music posts aren't your typical concert reviews, because the photos are my main priority, and also - I almost always come from the position of a fan rather than a music critic. This was especially true for Michael Franti's return to Red…
LCD Soundsystem lights up Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver

LCD Soundsystem Lights Up Red Rocks

LCD Soundsystem played Denver's iconic Red Rocks for two nights this summer and pretty much tore the house down. The large ensemble lead by James Murphy may not have moved around the stage very much, but their music sure made the crowd move - a…
Twenty One Pilots from night two of their sold out Red Rocks shows in 2016

Twenty One Pilots and Mutemath at Red Rocks

It's that time of year - Red Rocks season! Lots of great shows with headliners who bring in bands that could be headliners themselves. Twenty One Pilots had two massively sold out shows under the rocks recently with Mutemath accompanying them. I had not seen Mutemath before…

Brand New and Modest Mouse at Red Rocks

My Morning Jacket - Concert Photos from Red Rocks

My Morning Jacket at Red Rocks

Colorado band Elephant Revival headline their first show at Red Rocks

Elephant Revival & Josh Ritter at Red Rocks

Elephant Revival performed their first headlining concert at Denver's Red Rocks Amphitheatre recently, which is the loftiest of goals for most musicians - not to even mention local bands. This "transcendental folk" group are from Nederland, a small town of 1,500 people up the hill in…

Illegal Pete’s 20th Anniversary Concert

Last month, Colorado-based Illegal Pete's restaurants celebrated their 20th anniversary by throwing a big party at Red Rocks. The company closed all their locations and invited employees up to enjoy some of founder Pete Turner's favorite bands. This all makes sense, because Illegal Pete's is not just a burrito company - they care about people, music and fun. Their record label, the Greater Than Collective, supports many Colorado bands and comedians - so you can imagine how full Red Rocks was that night (in addition to Illegal Pete's staff) to celebrate 20 years of awesome.
