Wiredogs Video: “Am I The Resistance”
One of my favorite Denver bands (especially when I am in the mood for loud punk rock) is Wiredogs. I first knew them as The Hate, but the name never really suited them. They have a big sound and truly put on a raucous show (as many people will see tonight when they take the stage at Bluebird Theater with The Bronx). But they are definitely not hateful people. In fact, they are among the funniest guys I have ever met.
As proved when they got into a photobooth with my son at drummer Stefan Runstrom’s sister’s wedding. Stefan Runstrom’s sister being Monika, one of my best friends. Ah, yes, the circle of our life in Denver music. Me > Monika > band.
Will my kid every understand how cool his life is? Probably not.
But you guys can see how cool Wiredogs are with their newest video (below), released this week. The guys worked with a group of CU students on the project. Together they explored the contrast between an American teen and those forced to fight in Uganda… coming back to the subject of the song, “Am I The Resistance.” The result is pretty damn awesome.
