10 Years of Marriage

Dear Bryan,

Today, we celebrate 10 years of being married. We happen to be in Mexico, but I have a Blogging Fairy that took care of posting this for me.

I can’t believe it’s been 10 years… well, nearly 14 years if you count the time we lived in sin. It feels like a blip of time. I feel like we have been so lucky to find each other. You are truly my soul mate.

You make me laugh. You make me think. You make me feel good about myself. You make things interesting. You challenge me to be a better person. You are an incredible father. You are an incredible husband. And while you know I hate it when people blather on and on about how wonderful you are… deep down, I know they are right.

Not that you are always perfect… we have had our moments over the past 10 years. But I love how we can sit and talk, really talk, and find a better place for both of us at the end of it.

I love how hard you work at our family. Every day I watch and am amazed by how hard you try in every endeavor… whether it is at work, home or play.

I can’t believe how lucky I was when you walked out of that bar to take my phone number – and how much our lives have changed since that moment. We started working together, dating, moving to Denver together, marrying, starting a business, and having a child. All of the most important things in my life revolve around you.

But mostly, I appreciate that you not only allow me to be me, but also help me be a better me.

In Mexico, this week – I plan to have a small impromptu ceremony – just you and me on the beach, where we can renew our vows to each other. I will promise to work even harder at our marriage, our life. I promise to take the time for us over the next 10 years (and beyond). I want to continue to build our relationship – and I can’t wait to see where we end up on the other end. We can do some amazing things when we put our heads together.

I look to our future and smile.

I love you deeply. Happy anniversary.
