Best Day With The Kid Ever

While Bryan was off hauling dirt with Jeff yesterday, I decided it was high time to incorporate fun time for Mama with fun time for Declan. So I took Declan to the Denver Botanic Gardens for my annual flower photo shoot and handed him our old point and shoot camera while I shot with my DSLR. We had a total blast. I repeat, TOTAL BLAST.

Declan fired off over 100 photos and some of them were totally awesome, as you can see below. (And some of them were, um, a leeeetle blurry).

But more importantly, I was able to share one of my great loves, photography, with my biggest little love, Declan.

========================================

THE BEST OF DECLAN’S PHOTOS:

He *loved* this big blue vase and the hanging spider. We stayed here for at least 15 minutes.

Hey look! A photo of ME! Me, taking photos!

He caught bees buzzing in the air!

He was also fascinated with these colorful birdhouses they had everywhere. I love how he framed this shot.

We both took this picture. His was better than mine.

I loved how often he thought to look down for photo ops.

And up.

This statue cracked him up, because of the, tee hee hee, … p-e-n-i-s.

And finally, he wanted to take a photo of his belly.

And here are my favorites of the ones I shot…

And finally… a self portrait of us.

The faces say it all.

Yup.

Best. day. ever.

What amazing pictures – I love yours, as always, but Dex really has an eye already. His are incredible and I love his perspectives.

I agree with monstergirlee – he’s got a good eye. It’s a good idea to hand the kids a camera, I might even do it myself, but knowing my kids they’d take panoramics of my butt!!!

Gorgeous photos… Both of you! I had so much fun giving my 6 year old (then) grandson a very simple digital camera and watching him take picture after picture, knowing if he got something he hated we could delete it, but amazed at all the great shots he got. Kids have a unique perspective, don’t they?

Great photos! I loved what he caught and yours are so beautiful! I have a serious love of a macro shot, so you had me at hello on those ones.

PS Thanks for stopping by at Wannabe Hippie and saying Hi. Hope to see you again sometime (I’m not always so heavy!)
