For Two Friends On Their Wedding Day

It shows how old I am that I haven’t been to a wedding in years. YEARS.

There was a time in the mid-90’s where I flew back to Maryland four times in one year for weddings. FOUR TIMES.

But today, 03.06.09 – I have TWO friends getting married. One who is doing it quiet, yet is not particularly quiet in real life. Except for when she is. One who is doing it loud (in internet terms at least), but is not all that loud. Unless you get her singing Whitney Houston at karaoke, that is.

Both are ladies I feel I know in special ways, have had special conversations with, and are much more than internet social mediaish friends. Both are marrying men I like, admire, and love to talk to. Both are wise beyond their years and I feel like any advice I give will be superfluous.

But I am going to give it anyway.

Tara and Gwen (and Adam and Joel)…

People tell me all the time how LUCKY I am to have Bryan. AND OH HELL YES I KNOW I AM. I was blessed by whatever orbital being is floating out there in the cosmos the day he walked into my life.

But luck has nothing to do with our marriage.

We work every single day. To stay connected, to stay friends, to stay lovers and to say IN love. We make time to talk. We argue. We always respect each other. We put in the time to find the end of the argument. We laugh. Laugh laugh laugh. We agree to disagree. We go out and find other things besides each other to enjoy and bring the best of that back. We remember that the dark times are there to make the bright times more special.

All these things are steps as we plunk along in our relationship. The journey that helps us grow together as a couple, and stay on the path of life together.

I hope with all my heart that journey is magic for you as well.

Congratulations and love to you on your most special of days.

xo,
Aim

P.S. Here are my photos from Gwen’s wedding.
