GAYLE at Larimer Lounge

When I found out GAYLE was only 17 years old, I was shocked. After I saw her live at Denver’s Larimer Lounge, I was in utter disbelief. I did get to meet her briefly and she seemed very nice, but obviously I don’t know her. Watching her live though, is like seeing someone who either has to be a very old rock ‘n roll soul or someone who has been on the road for at least 20 years. Even before she covered Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation,” that is exactly who she reminded me of.

GAYLE’s song “abcdefu” hit near the top of the Billboard chart recently, and the follow-up single “ur just horny” is following right behind it. So, yes, even her song themes are mature, in the best way.

I can tell you already that GAYLE’s concert in Denver will be among my favorites of the year, and the next time she plays here it will a much larger venues than the Larimer Lounge. I’m sure the rest of the sold-out crowd will be glad we saw her in a small club when we could.

GAYLE is playing with AJR (!) through May and then both Lollapalooza and Firefly (!!!) in the fall. Go see this young lady/old soul as soon as possible; I promise you won’t regret it.
