Denver Concert Venues and Live Music Guide
Denver has one of the best live music scenes in the country, whether you’re into tiny clubs on South Broadway, legendary rooms on Colfax, or massive outdoor shows under the stars at Red Rocks.
Over the years, people have constantly asked me where to see concerts in Denver, which venues are best for certain music styles, and where I personally love to shoot shows. While this post started as a giant list of Denver-area music venues, I’ve now moved everything into a more complete and constantly updated concert venue hub.

My Favorite Denver Concert Venues
Denver has everything from tiny dive bars with local punk bands to massive amphitheaters and arenas hosting international tours.
If you want the iconic Colorado concert experience, Red Rocks is obviously in a category all its own. Even after all these years, it still feels special every single time.
For mid-sized venues, Mission Ballroom has quickly become one of the best sounding rooms in Denver, while the Ogden, Gothic, and Summit continue to bring in a huge mix of touring indie, rock, punk, pop, and alternative artists.
I also still love smaller rooms like Marquis, Globe Hall, Lost Lake, and Hi-Dive because you can catch bands before they completely blow up. Some of my favorite concert photography moments have happened in those smaller spaces where the crowd is packed in tight and the energy is chaotic in the best way.
If you’re into jazz, Dazzle and Nocturne are both excellent. Country fans basically treat Grizzly Rose as a landmark. Swallow Hill is great for folk and singer-songwriter performances. Cervantes and Black Box lean heavily into EDM, hip hop, jam bands, and late-night dance culture.
One thing I always tell visitors is that Denver’s music scene is surprisingly neighborhood-driven. East Colfax is packed with legendary venues like Bluebird, Ogden, Lost Lake, and Lion’s Lair, while South Broadway has its own entirely different personality with places like Hi-Dive, HQ, Skylark Lounge, and the Gothic nearby in Englewood. RiNo has also become a major live music area over the last several years with Mission Ballroom, Globe Hall, and Meow Wolf hosting everything from indie rock to huge electronic events.
Looking for Upcoming Denver Concerts?
We also maintain a hand-curated Denver concert calendar featuring upcoming shows across Denver, Boulder, and the Front Range. Instead of pulling in every possible event automatically, the calendar focuses on notable touring artists, indie bands, local favorites, and concerts that rock music fans actually care about.
You can view upcoming concerts by date, artist, or venue and discover everything from major headliners to small shows happening around town.
