November Greeblemix Contest
Are you all ready for some new music? Well, usually my Greeblemixes are new + old, but you get the point!
HERE ARE THE RULES:
1. Comment as often as you like, up until midnight (Mountain time), November 3th, 2008.
2. The more comments you make, the more chances you have to win.
3. While you are at it, tell me about your favorite music in them there comments this month. Just for fun. It has no bearing on the winners. Other than I might make fun of you. But probably not. Let’s remember I have HANSON in my iTunes.
4. No anonymous comments.
5. Winners from last month, please take a month off.
6. Tomorrow morning, James from work, who will not read the comments – will pick THREE SEPARATE random numbers, and if one of those numbers are your place in line in the comments, you will win a mix CD from me! Three CDs, three winners!
7. Winners must be willing to give me their snail mail to send the CDs.
8. No need to have to have a blog to enter. We are equal opportunity around here.
There ya go, have at it!
Oh, I’m feeling lucky: number two! C’mon, James…
And as for my favorite music this month: I listen to a vast array of tunes spanning the decades… but I cannot, no matter how I try, get through a day without listening to Ray Lamontagne, and promptly swooning all over the place.
Maybe it’s the hirsuteness… or all that lovely scorchy yearning. I don’t really know. I just know that I? SWOON.
I love David Gray, Jason Mraz, Tristan Prettyman…just to mention a few.
I REALLY want to win! As of late I’ve been in the mood for A Fine Frenzy, Jenny Lewis (Acid Tongue), Band of Horses, & old Pearl Jam.
Steph
Lets give this a shot, hopefully I win this time!
I was just loading Christmas music into iTunes over the weekend. Sick and wrong, I know.
I like the band James…maybe that’ll help me get picked.
I love, love, love this Portland band, The Dimes. They are fantastic.
Crap. #1 never gets it. Oh well.
I’m totally stuck on I’ll believe in anything by Wolf Parade right now. But I also listened to Maroon 5 all day today, so there’s that.
I’m into Ingrid Michaelson, Brandi Carlisle, and Manu Chao these days.
Excited to see what you’ve put together.
I have turned my kids into Queen fanatics. Both of them with clap to We Will Rock You.
Let’s see well, I am on an agressive music kick this week, so it’s been a lot of RATM’s Bombtrack.
On the Can. Con. front, I am digging Hawkesley Workman’s When You Gonna Flower.
Lucky 18?? I need HELP in the music department. My husband doesn’t think I have enough music in my life. I agree. Maybe this would inspire a new trend!?
Uh, this is really cool! I want to participate! 🙂
TRY #1.
My favorite band is Pearl Jam BTW. Best band ever!
Since it’s November, and in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I’ll just comment and express my thankfulness and gratitude to the amazing hospice team of nurses taking care of my dad right now. These are amazing, special people…
Oh, and my guilty-pleasure-riding-in-the-car-by-myself-singing-as-loud-as-I-can song right now is Beyonce’s “If I were Boy”…
Okay, I never win anything EVER, but I’m going for it again this month! Wooohoo!
Let’s see, my fave music these days is from Black Eyed Peas’ Elephunk album. Especially since it’s so cute to see my two year old funk out to it. 🙂
Just found Green Day – American Idiot in my car cd player yesterday – holy shit is that a good album!!!!
Commenting away, first of today.
Since I’m here, I’ll comment again.
I really like the heavy stuff.
I don’t think that comes as a surprise to anyone.
loving Elbow lately! 1
xoxo
Totally loving Adele!!!!
Oh me. Me!!
I have found Kings of Leon lately and adore them…..

we saw Harold and Kumar again last night – hilarious! A great way to end the weekend!
One of my faves is Sheryl Crow but I must admit that I listen to anything and everything.
Wow, some of your commenters have great taste in music – that is to say, much like my own. Ahem.
I’m having some difficulty not listening to the Kings of Leon lately, so it could be worse. I’ve been listening to some Ingrid Michaelson, The Weepies, Dirty Mittens, Bright Eyes, and as always, old fashioned Americana and folk because that’s how I roll.
Shameless self-pimping here, but I do a feature about music on my blog every week – Music Monday. People seem to like it, but then again they might be feeding my massive ego. I can’t be sure.
It’s just occurred to me that I’m unsure if you ship to locales other than North America. I don’t think I’ve won anything in my life though (cue violins), so I suspect it’s a matter of futility anyway.
Could this be my lucky day?
I am loving the new KINK Live tracks right now (KINK is a radio station in Portland). And Shawn Mullins. And just music, in general.
I’ll throw my name in again, I’ve really enjoyed the last Greeblemix I won.
I am really enjoying Keane’s latest album. I just got Snow Patrol’s latest too and will probably buy Bloc Party’s latest this week too.
New music would be grand! I always say that I like any music as long as it’s good music. I normally listen to classic rock, though.
Ah, what the heck, I am just going to comment again 🙂
Oh, and another good music suggestion: Lifehouse. I love Lifehouse.
what music am i listening to lately?
well.
i desperately need a new cd.
mine has
“sum heavy stuff”
scribbled in black sharpie
in my husbands handwriting
and although
i enjoy
nirvana, pearl jam, and a bit
of radiohead thrown in for
good measure,
i have
been listening to this cd
for 3 months now…
and…
it’s getting old.
:O)
the new PINK cd ROCKS
Ok, I have got to have a chance this time!!! (yeah, right!)
Music I’m crushing on right now? A mix tape of Vampire Weekend that my little bro made for me. So appropriate for Halloween, and surprisingly – they don’t suck!
Also — I know the words to Rhianna’s “Disturbia” – so, you know – make as much fun as you want, I’ll listen to anything (EXCEPT NEW COUNTRY! GAG!)
The Cd I have been listening to over and over in the car is Californication by The Red Hot Chili Peppers. I like the second song Parallel Universe. I really need to rotate my cds in the car but have been to lazy.
I’ve been enjoying that mix I got from you at the Mile High Mamas soiree – I like the mix!
Lately, I’ve been listening to too much kids’ music.
I must admit I have New Kids on the Block on my ipod! They are not as good as I remember but, hey I was 8 when I loved them!
I have everything from the Beatles to One Republic to Tobey Keith. My boyfriend has even gotten me to start listening to alternative.
Spotlight!
Bamboo!!
Helping my son Vote for a new Mascot.
My ipdo has 2 or 3 cd’s each of the following…
Maroon 5
5 for FIghting
Snow Patrol
Cat Power
Death Cab for Cutie
Dashboard Confessional
Modest Mouse
I call it my Adult Contemporary ALternative Music Jam-Along mix
Its pretty good mood music for walking and pretty much doing everything.
Oh – and Postal Service.
I’ve been into Starship Cobra lately. Went to a concert of theirs earlier this year.
I also have a last.fm station if anyone wants to check out what else I listen to. User name is midgetinvasion
Oh, and I should mention Blink 182 and All-American Rejects. Totally *heart* them.
Most played on my itunes lately are Kathleen Edwards and Bright Eyes…
Oh I GOT IN A COMMENT ON TIME!!!!!!!
Oh frabjous day, callou callay….
Keane is big on my iPod but I cannot get enough of Heart by Stars. Just love them!
Here’s hoping I have some luck this month. 🙂 It has to work out one of these times…maybe James is a fan of ol’ #33.
In heavy rotation on iTunes are my usual groups – Depeche Mode, They Might Be Giants, Live & Jonathan Coulton at the top. But, I’ve been listening to Coverville a lot lately and just coming across some great covers…sometimes purchasing them, just to build my “covers” library.
Dang! I’m late! Get out and VOTE people!
I want to win! I want to WIN! Please let me win. Sigh.
I’m liking Melody Gardot right now. 🙂
My daughter says “twinkle. twinkle. twinkle. twinkle. Yiddo sar. Twinkle. Twinkle.” She’s singing to “puppy”.
Also I saw Matt Nathanson last night and he blew my socks off and made me cry.
Contest closed!!! Winners announced tomorrow!
One more for good measure, and I forgot to say that I enjoy checking out the list of songs you post even if I don’t win, and am happily listening to Keane and the Caesars. Of course Oingo Boingo is heavily featured at Halloween on my iPod.
