Reason #157 Why Kids Are Fun…

Getting them to recite lines from movies.

Especially from silly movies. Apparently Declan’s friend Sophia can go line-for-line with Napoleon Dynamite. Which is cool and all – but she can’t compare to the cheesiness that erupts from our house. My favorite being Declan yelling lines from Berry Gordy’s The Last Dragon. Not that he’s actually seen the movie.

If you’ve actually seen this movie, next time I see you – remind me to buy you a drink. It’s pure 80’s cheese and I totally love it. I was finally able to find a VHS copy of it, but the DVD version has eluded me for years.

From the IMDB synopsis: A young man searches for the “master” to obtain the final level of martial arts mastery known as the glow. Along the way he must fight an evil martial arts expert and an rescue a beautiful singer from an obsessed music promoter.

The evil martial arts expert is named “Sho’ Nuff.”

That in itself makes the movie a masterpiece of cinematic triumph.

But then, add a near 4 year old running around and yelling “Shoooo Nuffff!” and you have nirvana.

And yes, if you are wondering, that is a pre-born-again Vanity.
