Vampire Weekend concert photos - Red Rocks Denver 2024

Vampire Weekend at Red Rocks

I finally got to see Vampire Weekend live in concert this summer at Red Rocks! They have been an indie darling since they first burst onto the scene in the mid-2000s. The band quickly gained attention for their unique blend of preppy aesthetics, afrobeat influences, and sharp, witty lyrics. Their 2008 self-titled debut album was a breath of fresh air, with tracks like “A-Punk” and “Oxford Comma” becoming instant hits, and have stayed among my longtime faves.

In 2023, fans were treated to a handful of festival dates, and the band did not slow down. In 2024, they released their new album, Only God Was Above Us, and mounted a full tour, including visiting us in Denver. Lead singer Ezra Koenig’s easygoing stage presence made fans feel like they’re part of an intimate gathering rather than a massive show. The band’s live performances are known for extended versions of their songs, playful banter, and the occasional surprise cover… which as you can see, Denver got several in the setlist below.

With their mix of upbeat anthems and softer tunes, Vampire Weekend’s live shows continue to captivate audiences worldwide. They continue their tour into December of 2024 to make sure we all get a chance to see them!
