Win Hunter Hayes Concert Tickets for Colorado Springs Show

Note: Hunter Hayes is providing concert tickets for me and the contest winner. Words are mine.
Did you watch the Grammy's this year? You may remember a remarkable young man performing his song, "Invisible" with inspirational quotes flying all around him as he sang his heart out? Yup, Hunter Hayes. My music tastes usually run a bit more indie but I always love good singing and songwriting. I have listened to all of Hunter's music (pre-Grammys even) and it's really beautiful.
Hidden Beach, Marieta Islands, Mexico

Hidden Beach on the Marietas Islands, Mexico

When we visited Puerto Vallarta, I knew there was one place we had to go as a day-trip. I had seen all these outrageous photos on Pinterest of somewhere called Hidden Beach, and to be honest, I didn't even believe it actually existed. But it does. And is amazing. This secret, special place is located within the Marietas Islands, about an hour's boat ride from Puerto Vallarta. We were staying on the Riveria Nayarit side of Banderas Bay, which is much closer.
Tweens To Teens: Becoming An Adult

He Thinks He’s An Adult Now

That's a bit of an exaggeration but Dex is 11.5 - apparently the exact age that pushes a child (mine, at least) from tween peckishness to full on tween angst. He's a great kid. He'll be a great kid through his teen years and into adulthood. I have full faith in that. He's just entering that time when he is becoming his own person and most importantly, separating from us. Part of that separation includes thinking he knows everything and thinking we are annoying, weird, and embarrassing.
In The Whale - Denver Band Interview

In The Whale : Denver Street Interview

No joke. One of my favorite bands in Colorado is made up of just two guys, Nate Valdez and Eric Riley. This duo is able to make some really loud, really good rock and roll and have fun while doing it. I was able to…
Veronica Mars TV series

Veronica Mars Newbie

I'm thinking the years from 2002-2012 were a television wasteland for us because it was the first decade of our son's life and we were busy. It was also the years of Netflix DVDs rather than streaming and well before Hulu Plus. Recently, we have completely changed how we absorb entertainment, in that it is less movies and more TV - basically binging on those past episodes of shows that everyone talks about but we just never got to. My most recent gorging event was all three seasons of the cult-classic Veronica Mars. I had heard of the outrageously successful Kickstarter campaign to fund the movie, and I wanted to see what the hype was about before its premiere on March 14th. I got addicted, hard. Now I know why everyone liked it so much. Really, really, really, good writing. Real life (harsh) situations that kids deal with. Stuff that make me super scared as my son enters teendom - but still, yeah, I am not THAT old. I remember that stuff. Which makes it even scarier.
