Clay and India

I finally got myself back to pottery class tonight. Which means I spent the evening being completely frustrated by the wheel, and completely covering myself in clay to boot. I mean I have it in my hair, on my glasses, and my legs are coated from hip to toe. I did end up with two bowls, but collapsed four. In my defense, the clay was seriously jacked up. Everything was either sopping wet or dry as leather – so you have to cut it up into a million pieces and squish them back together with the hopes of getting a better consistency. Obviously I am not very good at that, so like I said – it was just jacked. The good part was listening to India Arie’s new album on the iPod, though. That girl is just plain old awesome. I love her writing style – it’s almost like having a conversation with her. And her being from Denver doesn’t hurt either.
