Death Cab For Cutie & The Postal Service at Mission Ballroom - Denver Concert Photos & Review

Death Cab For Cutie & The Postal Service at Mission Ballroom

Death Cab for Cutie, the indie rock darlings hailing from Bellingham, Washington, are like that perfectly worn-in sweater you can’t bear to part with—comfortable, nostalgic, and oh-so-cozy. Formed in the late ’90s, their dreamy sound and poetic lyrics have been the soundtrack to countless late-night contemplations. The band’s live performances are a delicate dance of emotion and melody, like a well-crafted mixtape come to life.

But here’s the thing… when the bill is BOTH Death Cab For Cutie, and Ben’s old band The Postal Service? Talk about a perfect night.

The Postal Service, that magical musical collaboration between Ben Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello, and Jenny Lewis (also of Rilo Kiley). Their electro-pop prowess, mixed with Gibbard’s heart-on-sleeve lyrics, creates a journey that’s both whimsical and emotionally charged. (Yes, a bunch of us got a little teary-eyed that night.)

Having these these bands visit Denver together (for two solid sold out nights at Mission!) was one of string of incredible concerts in 2023. I hope the instant popularity of the show will encourage them to tour more often.
