E is for Excellent
My pal Sizzle, who is always so supportive and kind to me, has awarded me with the E for Excellent Award. She is one of the people I would award it right back to, since, if there was a speed-dial in Blogland, she would most definitely top my list. (That’s my cheat #1, to award her without actually putting her on the list, tee hee hee).
I guess that is what this award is about. The people you don’t need an RSS feeder to remember their URL’s. The people you miss when you are on vacation. Or when you’re so busy at work that you barely have time to breathe and have totally fallen behind on blog reading but they are so awesome they will forgive you, and/or they will comfort you with their awesome writing, or photos, or humor, or kindness, or coolness, or all of the above – and when you finally do get a chance to get back to reading their blogs, it is a religious experience. Not that I am talking about me not reading anyone’s blogs. Those anonymous comments that say “you are awesome!” – ? Yeah, that was me.
And as a matter of course, I am going to skip the bad-mo-fo’s that I automatically read even when I try not to, and we all read, and they are awesome but seriously, like they really need any more damn awards? (Yes, Dooce, Mighty Girl, Finslippy, Fussy, Amalah, Pioneer Woman, I mean YOU.) And that was cheat #2. HA!
So here are the ones I couldn’t live with out and better not EVER take a “blogging break.” (And, everyone, really, I have more than 100 blogs on my reader. Please do not be hurt if you are not on this list. I love you all. Really, I do.)

1. Blue Yonder
Yonder is one of the talented homeschoolers I was talking about last week, and she has MAD SKILLZ with the camera. Seriously. I could stare at her photos all day. Keep her in mind for Best Photography Bloggie next year. She is THAT GOOD.
2. Jen & Tonic
I have heard about Jen for forever, and have lurked on her site off and on for forever. But we just connected recently in person (since email is the new in person) and I am in lurve. What a kind soul. With a stellar smile.
3. No Pasa Nada
Heather writes over my head half the time, cause she is wicked smart, yo – but I always enjoy it. And now that I have met her in person, I enjoy it even more.
4. Oh, The Joys
Jess is one of my idols online. She is kind, funny, generous, wise, gutsy, strong. All the cool things a woman can be.
5. Playgroups Are No Place For Children
Jennifer is someone I want to have drinks with. If only she didn’t live in the Land of Corn.
6. Rude Cactus / So The Fish Said
OK, so sue me, I cheated here too! I realize Chris and Beth are two different people with two distinct blogs, but I had to include both, OK??? Cause both of them crack me up so hard I pee a little.
7. Simply Nutmeg
If Meg wasn’t way hotter than me, I would think we were twins. I can’t think of a post she has ever written that I haven’t screamed “Can I get an AMEN!?!?” at the end of.
8. Sweetney
Sweetney is fun and bawdy, an excellent combination in my opinion. If only we’d known each other when I was back in Baltimore, we could have gone and seen Helmet together. And the Mamapop Twitter is awesome for keeping on top of everything in the entertainment world you wanted to know but were afraid to Google. Updated to add: The Balmer Sun thinks she is pretty cool too.
9. Trees In OK
Tree is one of my best friends, she is super dooper intelligent *and* totally dedicated to her running. I couldn’t run if I was being chased. *AND* we just launched a redesign of her site. It’s purdy.
10. Whiskey In My Sippy Cup
Mr. Lady used to be my next door neighbor back when blogs were a twinkle in Al Gore’s eye. Then she moved away, but our kids went to school together. Then, just when things were getting good, she up and MOVED TO CANADA! That betch. But luckily, we still are next door neighbors in a virtual world, and the girl is awesome.
