New Politics, Dreamers and The Wrecks at Ogden Denver
I have lost count of how many times I have seen New Politics. I know last summer at Levitt and the summer before at WMS were highlights for me – before their return to Denver for a headlining stop at the Ogden Theater last week, of course. On the surface, one might think that fans simply fall in love with the charm of this trio – their good looks and friendliness. Not to mention lead singer David Boyd’s killer dancing skills. But the truth is, they make great music and play it really well.
I have a habit of taking voice memos of songs I like during concerts after I am finished with photos, just from my pocket with the voice memos app. It keeps my phone out of other people’s view and actually records things pretty well – if you are just looking to remember how good a band sounds (like I am). Point is, I can also tell how much I like a band or a concert by how many voice memos I end up with by the end of the night.
Let’s just say there were *A LOT* from New Politics, especially when you add incredible openers like Dreamers and The Wrecks.
We have been getting spoiled lately with these triple threat shows – when all three bands are ones you would gladly see as a headliner. No complaints though.
These guys continue the Lost In Translation tour into the summer here in the United States, go see them!
