November Mix CD Contest

Golly, there is so much to talk about around here… First day of NaBloPoMo, more Halloween wrap-up stuff, my incredibly high blood sugar count last night… but first things first. I already have had a few emails this morning asking WHERE IS THE NOVEMBER CD CONTEST!?!?

Since I just attended a concert this week, that’s the theme of the questions this month.

Now remember the rules, people!

1. First, a freebie since we are all probably a little sluggish this morning: What was the last concert I attended?

2. What was the first concert I ever attended?

3. And lastly, name any band who I have seen 3 or more times in concert.

Go get ’em, gang!

I’m gonna try #3, The Fray?

  3. Carrie

I have no answers since I just started reading your blog. But I just wanted to say Day One! We’re off and running.

And I can’t wait to see the answer to #2, because the answer to that question is usually hilarious unless you had very enlightened parents. For example, mine was New Kids on the Block. Ha!

    Mayberry is winner # 1! 🙂

And Sue, nope! I have only seen the Fray twice!

And Carrie, funny that we both have concert-themed posts today!

Come on y’all!!!… take some guesses for #2 and #3!!!

  5. Tree

For question number 3 – Pixies!

  6. jessica

    Crowded House?

  7. jessica

do we only get one guess? per question or per contest?

  8. Aimee Greeblemonkey

Tree…. Wrong! I have only seen the Pixies once!!!

    Jessica… CORRECT for number three!!!

And hmmm… the rules are developing still in the new fangled contest thing… but we definitely only want one winner per question and each question to have it’s own winner so there are 3 winners per month.

But I think multiple guesses are OK if you are wrong the first time!

Who was the first musical act I ever saw in concert????

    I will give you a hint, I was 15.

    my most sincere apologies…

i delurk to hog your comments AND to be so bold as to ask about rules that were already made clear. sheesh.

putting myself in the corner now. (and shutting completely up.)

  11. Aimee Greeblemonkey

Not even! I think it was a good question help me clarify how to do this thang!

And thanks for de-lurking! Yay! You get a CD out of it!

  12. Sue at nobaddays

Ack – I’ve done an advanced Google search on your site using just about every term I can think of: first band concert 15 fifteen teenager .. you name it. Kudos to whoever finds it.

  13. Sue at nobaddays

I’ll give it a wild shot though … Wham? Boy George? Madonna? Eric Clapton?

    I’ll stop now.

  14. Aimee Greeblemonkey

Sue, Madonna remains on my wish list… never saw Wham or Culture Club… did see Eric Clapton once…

And I realize my archive/search sucks right now! I promise it will be fixed soon!

Another hint… you were closer when were were guessing at bands from across the pond. And it’s not a band but a person.

  15. Gwen

    Howard Jones?

  16. Aimee Greeblemonkey

Closer, Gwen! (And Howard Jones would have been a correct answer for bands I have seen 3 or more times)… but no… HoJo was not my first….

  17. gwen

    Tom Jones?
    Norah Jones?
    Jesus Jones?
    Rickie Lee Jones?
    Baby Fish Mouth? 🙂

  18. Aimee Greeblemonkey

OK, that SERIOUSLY cracked me up.

  19. Aimee Greeblemonkey

    Ok, geez louise.

This guy is considered a one-hit-wonder here in America and his big hit was written by Daryl Hall.

  20. James

Ummmm …. Paul something … Paul Young?

  21. Aimee Greeblemonkey

    We have a winner!

  22. zenrain

I KNEW THAT it was Paul Young!! No fair for those of us who don’t have a computer at work!!!!!

  23. Janet

lol the comments were just as entertaining as the post!!! My first concert, at 14, was T.Rex. My parents had no clue LOL!

  24. Sara

Just stopping by to say hi! 🙂

  25. Tree

I cannot believe you saw the Pixies only once!!! I thought I was right for sure. I should have remembered Crowded House.

Did you ever see Oingo Boingo?

  26. Aimee Greeblemonkey

NO!!!! No Danny Elfman for me. Another black mark in my concert going career.

And seeing the Pixies when they reunited for the Sell Out Tour was a must because I missed them back in college. Sniff sniff.
